Bardenas Reales

Stretching over 100,000 acres of southeastern Navarre, the Bardenas Reales are a forbidding expanse of arid badlands. The incessant blowing winds of the area have sculpted the sandstone landscape into a variety of strange and arresting shapes.

So forbidding are the Reales that no settlements exist within its bounds, and the region serves as the natural boundary between Navarre and Aragon.
